About Us
Warrior Hoops was founded in April 2004. It started with one 8th grade boys’ team. The 8th grade Warriors ended their inaugural competitive league and tournament schedule extremely successfully in November 2005 and ranked #1 in the nation under the USSSA rating system. They qualified for the USSSA Kansas State Tournament, which was held in Shawnee, KS on April 1, 2006 and the USSSA National Tournament, which was held in Fort Wayne, IN on July 2006. The rapid success of the Warriors has been broadcast throughout the state of Kansas and the country as we strive to be known as a nationally ranked program. Our early success has opened the door for tremendous growth. In the years since, we have added girls and boys teams ranging from 3rd grade to seniors in high school. Our teams are family-oriented, fundamentals focused and players return back each season. Despite our growth, our goals remain the same, to make a difference in the lives of young people in the Kansas City area through a faith-based basketball program. By the conclusion of our 2014 season, Warrior Hoops grew from 58 to over 120 youth. Our goal for 2015 is to host 20 teams with over 200 youth.
Warrior Hoops emphasizes a faith-based lifestyle, requires a minimum GPA of 2.5, teaches leadership and/or life-skills, and stresses the hardcore fundamentals of basketball. We teach our participants respect and appreciation for God, their parents, our country, the game of basketball, and themselves. We encourage the development of leadership principles and create an environment that fosters a strong work ethic both on and off the court. We want our participants to impact their peers and their communities through strong positive influence reflecting traditional core values.
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon made (forged, fashioned) will prevail against you. In court you will refute every accusation. The servants of Adonai inherit all this; the reward for their righteousness is from me, says Adonai. (CJB)
